Wonderful article. A pragmatic view of how to improve project performance without the disruption and cost of imposing a whole new regime. “Convergence planning” if you will, with the rate of convergence on a future state of increased maturity and business value being dependent on each organization’s culture and ability to change.

I would also add the word “Sustainability” to your excellent mantra of “Transparency, Visibility and Collaboration”. After all, the measure of success of any “PMO of one” is how much of the change continues unassisted after they have left or moved on to the next problem area.

Bryan and April, I liked how 'change' was such an important theme in your article and a necessary component to manage. As project managers we often recognize that organizational change is important to manage in projects, but we often overlook it as a factor in our own process improvements (PMO, project management processes). Thanks, I enjoyed this article!
