Correct- I was referring more towards a "balanced" or "weak" martix organization. One where the processes and procedures are not yet static and the PC takes on a BA role to assess the current state and make suggestions for more efficient project management processes.

Hi Kindra,

When you write that as a project coordinator you're brought in to establish order, I am guessing that's in a functional and not a matrixed organization?

Good article that translates well to the UK roles of project support officer and project coordinators. Often PCs struggle to shake off the admin side of their roles. Being a 'supporting' function doesn't just mean doing the admin on a project. Luckily in the UK we now have P3O which has helped defined the supporting roles within PM better.
