I have taught project scheduling to engineers for many years. Junior project managers are often overwhelmed with the sheer number of best practices to remember and apply. Project management tools, like Microsoft Project, provide the means to apply these rules, but how can you know which one to use and when?

If you had to advise a junior project managers on a small subset of best practices to start implementing, what would you recommend ?</description>
