Yes, the metaphor and analogy is easy to extend beyond Project management, but it really does hit home when you simplify it like this, Chris. And that is why metaphor is so useful. It helps people hang their hat on a really simple everyday item, rather than project and other manageemnt seeming separate from normal life. Excellent! Actually we´ve been doing that with corporate groups ranging from a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 40 people each time... the "team-building" aspect of this strategy, on top of the project management analogies, is outstanding!
