The triangle in my eyes is a simplification of the control elements of a project and it neglects the key start and finish elements of a project which are the definition of the actual needs of the stakeholders and the evaluation of meeting the needs by measuring benefits and value.

I would love to hear the outcome of your conversation with your students on this subject.

		<description>I always thought that the Project Triangle, as defined originally by PMI and later killed by PMI in their latest PMBOK version, doesn't make sense in real life.

I like your "Project Management Octagon", I will discuss it with my students in the small PM class I'm currently teaching.</description>
