Things to avoid when implementing Service Management
By Danielle J. Baker
- Don’t try to do it without professionals
- Don’t bury it in operations
- Don’t farm it out to contractors
- Don’t design process around tools
- Don’t roll out processes in silos
- Don’t try to roll out more than 3 processes at a time
- Don’t try to force it down people’s throats
- Don’t do it for the sake of doing it
- Don’t think that training will solve all problems
- Don’t do it if you are not willing to go all the way
- Don’t plant it on the Titanic (on a sinking ship)
