I really like this idea and will try it out.  A couple of suggetions:  Filter out the completed tasks if you are focused on work remaining.  Also, you can filter critical path tasks as well.  There are relly many ways to slice and dice the information.  MS Project does not do a good job of helping PM's out.  Thanks for your post.
