What Social Project Management Is and Is Not
By Kelly Kazimer

Social Project Management Is…

  • Social PM is understanding that communication and collaboration are keys to project success.

  • Social PM is providing project participants with the information they need to deliver the goods.

  • Social PM is realizing that valuable people are not always in the same office, building, city, country.

  • Social PM is actively engaging with project participants in ways that are easy and familiar to them.

  • Social PM is encouraging project participants to take ownership of their work, and engage with one another and their project community.

  • Social PM is giving resources the means to contribute and share, in meaningful and intuitive ways.

  • Social PM is knowing the value of information ownership and accountability across all project participants.

Social Project Management Is Not…

  • Social PM is not posting your private business project information on Facebook for the world to see.

  • Social PM is not encouraging teams to waste time on that “social media stuff” at work.

  • Social PM is not sacrificing project management due diligence in favor of some new fad.

  • Social PM is not decision by committee or lack of project control.

  • Social PM is not a project without management

What happened? The link to Upstart Industries doesn’t work and Vantage doesn’t have a signup page or pricing. Did you go out of business?
